Since the opening of the hospital in 1997, Seoul Women’s Hospital has been operating the infertility specialized center with the medical staffs who have been successfully performed 4,000 procedures of in-vitro fertilization with a success in pregnancy of 1,500 cases over the 10 years.

This reputation as the “first” in Gyeonggi and Incheon provinces to succeed in in-vitro fertilization has been possible thanks to the numerous empirical cases based on the advanced research facilities of medical professionals and researchers.

Seoul Women’s Hospital established the first infertility clinic with the clinical staffs who performed the first in-vitro, and the first in-vitro by the embryo transplantation of blastocystic stage in Gyeonggi province. It is also the first success in pregnancy through microscopic sperm injection. Its success history is parallel to the infertility treatment of the province.

With such acknowledgment of the hospital’s professionalism and representation as the infertility specialty clinic, it was registered as the embryo formation medical institution under the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2005, and designated as the registered hospital for the government’s support program for the sterile couples in 2006.

The Hospital pays a great deal of attention to customer services for the sterile patients. It reduced the visitations to half by self-injection through the patient education instead of being tested at the hospital every other day for blood test and ultrasound test. It also opens the night clinics for patients who are working daytime.

The Seoul Women’s Hospital differentiates in its services by providing the constant medical support for patients who succeeded in pregnancy unlike the other hospitals. In conjunction of Gynecology and Infertility Research Center, patients can be treated by the same doctor after pregnancy.

The operation of diagnostic system at the SWH as the women specialty clinic is very efficient and systemic. From pregnancy to childbirth and postpartum care, and neonate-infant health management, and women’s health management during menopause, the hospital provides the ‘one-stop’ diagnosis/treatment system for women and family.
