| Handongha Traditional Korean Medical Clinic
(Director Han Dong-Ha, located at Seocho-dong,
Seoul) specializes in allergies and immunological
disorder.
The clinic concentrates especially on the
research and treatment of allergic diseases
such as atopic dermatitis, urticaria,
rhinitis and asthma and also of purpura(allergic
purpura, HSP) and psoriasis among autoimmune
diseases.
The clinic dreams to achieve ‘A world of
anergy, a world without allergy’. ‘Anergy’
is an immunological term that is opposed
to the term ‘allergy’. Dr. Han’s clinic
aims to precisely diagnose the genetic
influences on allergies as well as to
improve various environmental and dietary
problems in order to build a more stable
immunological system in the body.
Dr. Han is a descendent succeeding his
deceased father(also traditional korean
medical doctor). He graduated Kyunghee
University College of Traditional Korean
Medical and did his masters and postdoctoral
degree in the same Graduate School. At
the same time, he obtained the medical
specialist of a traditional korean internal
medicine(majoring allergies, immunology,
and respiratory medicine) in Kyunghee
Traditional Korean Medical Center. He
is the author of ‘Goodbye allergies(published
by Jisungsa)’ and also currently takes
a job in the education of younger students
at university.
The main therapies of Dr. Han are herbal
medicine, immunological accupuncture,
dietary cure that attempt to improve one’s
physical constitution. Dr. Han has centralized
upon researching allergic purpura which
had no known cure and has gained great
approval after the announcement of the
result of ‘Clinical Analysis on the 106
cases of Henoch-Schönlein Purpura’ at
the Korean Society for Oriental Internal
Medicine. It is because of the fact that
compared to existing treatments, Dr. Han’s
way of therapy has remarkably reduced
the recurrence rate of allergic purpura
in patients. He is also much interested
in the possibility of treating nephritis
(IgA nephrosis) which is a complication
that may arise due to allergic purpura.
Dr. Han obtained his masters and postdoctoral
degree by researching immunosuppressant
in leeches and has since utilized medical
leeches that live up to about a few years
for his treatment. The leech therapy is
mainly effective in adaptation diseases
such as Buerger’s disease(thromboangiitis
obliterans), diabetic ulcer(diabetic foot),
skin ulcer due to vasculitis, subjective
symptom of varicose vein, arthritis(osteoarthritis,
rheumatic arthritis), cutaneous abscess,
purulent acne and chronic headache. Dr.
Han is also the first president of Korean
Biotherapy Council that aims to research
biotherapy. This council is a gathering
of oriental medical doctors who studies
living organisms such as leeches and worms
for the treatment of diseases. Dr. Han
has opened his research results to the
public through his internet blog and gained
a big interest from the people and from
the health professionals as well.
Dr. Han compounds external preparations
himself and uses them for his treatments.
Biryeongack(鼻寧液) for allergic rhinitis,
Jagumgo(紫金膏) for psoriasis, and Cheongpigo(淸皮膏)
for atopic dermatitis are medications
made of herbs. These are excellent medications
that bring about natural recovery and
allow less dependence on steroids and
anti-histamines.
Dr. Han wishes that the people suffering
immune disorders to have hopes that they
can improve and change for the better.
He always strives to do his best in the
most diligent attitude, to achieve ‘Daily
Renovation(日新又日新).’ Furthermore, he is
an oriental medical doctor of a warm heart
hoping that the patients and their families
can one day be free of the pain by increasing
the rate of successful treatments.
