The stroke center in Don-A university medical center was founded for specialized evaluation and treatment for patients with and cerebrovascular disease, which is one of the top three causes of death in Korea.

Since they started operating 24/7 with 1330 Emergency Medical Information Center in October 2007, the use of anticoagulant has increased from 6% to 15%. They were awarded for their acute thrombolytic therapy-within 28 minutes- by Korean Neurological Association in 2008.

They are equipped with state-of-art technology for SMS and computer system, which enables rapid and effective treatments for emergency patients with strokes. Its noticeable growth throughout last three years will be published by a European Journal.

In 2009, the hospital was selected as emergency stroke center in Busan area, and they introduced monitoring service of 72 hours with 'stroke care units.' Especially the hospital tries to promote its rapidity and quality of treatment through cooperation of specialists from different fields such as neurology, neurosurgery, and rehabilitation treatment. Patients can get immediate diagnosis and evaluation at the stroke center.
